The Sweater Project

When the temperatures plunge, we crank up the heat or don a heavy sweater. Thousands of Afghan children who work on the streets to support their families don’t have that luxury. They suffer terribly from the freezing elements.

ZAANHA Fund has organized a group of Afghan women to buy yarn (gives business to local merchants), knit a sweater (gives income to the women) and then gift a working street child with a warm new sweater.

As you curl up in your toasty home this winter, imagine the children pictured here and hundreds more like them, enjoying the gift of warmth because of your generosity. Please get your friends involved!
